Dr. Todd Winters and team found themselves saying good bye to all the friends made during their two week stay in Kudjip, WHP Papua New Guinea. The team volunteered and visited with many people in the hospital, on the station, and off the station. The team worked on the Volunteer House completing the metal siding, putting window frames and bars in, and painting all the fascia board and window frames. Some team members painted and redecorated one of the volunteer doctor’s flats for the doctors who will be coming in the future. One team member was a professional seamstress, who completed pillowcases, wall hangings, pillows, and shower curtains for the volunteer house and doctor’s flat. The team held two Bible Schools at local churches with several in attendance. The team members built relationships with local people.

The Medford team is busy with several different projects. The ladies are rotating four a day to paint one of the doctor’s flats. They are using an oil base paint called mission white. It sure helps brighten up the rooms. Marilyn has sewn table clothes for the dining talbes and is sewing pillow cases for bedrooms. Two ladies are rotating daily to cook, clean, and do laundry. Three men are helping on the Volunteer House all day. Several other team members are working at the hospital during the morning then helping in the afternoon on the Volunteer House. Of course the Winter’s children are having a blast playing with the mission station children. (more…)

Brothwell Team completes the framing and roofing of the main roof. The porch roof needs copper (tin). What a team! They worked extremely hard the entire 7 days that they were on the Volunteer House site. We found everyone working and having fun. They were challenging each other to be the best they could be. Denny was a great superintendent for the project site. The younger members of the team screened sand for the front siding panels that will be poured into the cement for the Volunteer House decoration and look of individuality. We had two members try out the emergency room with a couple of stitches in the head and one in a finger. Other than those two instances, everyone was safe. (more…)

House #1,

This is one of the early missionary homes that was built on the station in Kudjip. This house has beautiful wood floors. This house is the only house that has 2 bathrooms.

Hospital maintenance is getting this house ready for teams arriving. One bathroom needs a little work also with some on other minor maintenance. The house is located at the lower end of the station next to Dr. Scott and Gail Dooley’s residence. This house is approx 2400 square feet and consists of large kitchen, large living room/dinning room. 1 master bedroom with private bath. Second bathroom located at the opposite end of house with 2 bedrooms located next to the bathroom. We plan to put all bunk beds in this house for teams coming to Kudjip. (more…)
