On the blog it talks about obtaining your VISA at the airport in Port Moresby. Yes, this is possible but probably much better/quicker to obtain prior to leaving US by filling out the paperwork which can be downloaded from PNG Embassy site in US and sent with the $25 US dollars per application to the Embassy. The turnaround is 2 weeks and you are dealing with US employees and they email questions and respond quite quickly. Personally, I think this is more secure with a large team but both will work.

Documents:
Make sure to have two copies of passport, driver’s license, immunization, cards, and itinerary someplace else besides your back pack or purse. Documents as electronic copy on a stick are great or even on your computer. You will need your passport almost everywhere so use a travel belt or something that goes around your neck to carry your important documents. Something that is easy to get to and quick to use. Don’t carry your money all in one place.
Suggestion: Go to the driver’s license bureau and get a state ID. This will look like a driver’s license but will say ID. With another person coming on the trip give them your ID card and a copy of your passport. This will insure that if you lose yours or in case of an emergency someone else will have copies.

We first want you to understand that the culture is conservative for women. Men are not as conservative however we want to keep the dress for men nice.
Ø The weather here will be in the mid 60’s at night and 80 to 85 during the day.
Ø Bring Suntan lotion, you are close to the sun here and will burn very quickly.
